Tech Talent South courses are offered part time, with a full-time option for its coding course. TTS also partners with other coding bootcamps around the South to provide free or low-cost software bootcamps and workshops to local communities. Tech Talent South Curricula: What Can You Study?
At TTS, you can take two types of courses: the Learning Path courses listed above, and special programs available only at designated locations. Learning Path courses include coding, data science, and app development.
Special programs are sometimes offered as a one-off and also usually cover web and software development. Below, we’ll take a closer look at the Learning Path courses at TTS.
Code Immersion
Code Immersion is a full stack development program available on a full-time or part-time schedule. In this course, you will start by learning the fundamentals of web development. By the end of the course, you will be able to create your own app.
You will learn about object-oriented programming with Java, C# and Ruby, and how to use these codes with open-source frameworks to build a prototype. The course also covers tools such as APIs, Git, and GitHub.
Data Science
The TTS Data Science course will teach you how to collect, organize, and analyze data using Python. This part-time class will also teach you how to create machine learning models. You will learn how to create data visualizations that are easy to understand, and will discover how to use data to improve a business.
JavaScript Application Development
This program will teach you all about creating apps with the popular JavaScript programming language. IThe part-time course will cover frameworks and tools like Firebase, React, and ES6.
The course also goes over the basics of using APIs to create more functional and user-friendly applications. You will also learn how to improve the performance of your app with AJAX and how to manage your application with Redux once it has been deployed.

Tech Talent South Schedules: When Can You Study?
Full-Time
If you choose to attend the full-time Code Immersion program, you can earn your certificate in 10 weeks. This program requires that you attend class for 12 hours per week, from 9am to noon Monday to Thursday.
Part-Time
If you currently have a job or responsibilities during the day, you can choose to attend any of the three Learning Path courses on a part-time schedule. The part-time coding program also lasts 10 weeks and involves attending class from 6pm to 9pm twice a week.
The data science and JavaScript courses also require that you spend six hours in class per week, plus extra time spent studying.
Tech Talent South Tuition
Tuition at TTS costs between $2,200 and $13,500, depending on the program. The good news is that bootcamps offer plenty of payment options so that all students can find a way to cover the cost of tuition.
Tech Talent South Financing and Payment Options
- Installments. Most students choose to pay their tuition in installments. You will start paying when your course begins. If you pay for the Code Immersion program in installments, you will receive a discount of either $340 or $240, depending on the schedule you choose. For the other courses, you will get a 5 percent discount.
- Upfront payment. You can also pay your TTS tuition before your class starts. This will also get you a discount of $435 to $675 for the Code Immersion program, and 10 percent off the other two courses.
- Veteran scholarship. If you are a veteran, you may qualify for Tech Talent South’s Diversity & Veteran Scholarship.
- Women’s scholarship. Tech Talent South offers the Women In Tech scholarship as a way to help get more women involved in an industry where women’s voices are often lacking.
Tech Talent South Admissions: How to Get In
To get into TTS, you must pass various tests and meet certain requirements. The tech training institute is an inclusive environment where everyone will be given a chance to succeed.
Tech Talent South Application
It’s easy to apply to TTS. Just follow the three steps below.
- Fill out an application: Go to the Tech Talent South website, choose the course you are interested in, and fill out the online form. You will need to enter your personal details and write about how you heard about TTS.
- Chat with the TTS team: The second step is to schedule a conversation with the Tech Talent South team. In this 20-minute chat, you will tell the admissions team about yourself, your motivation to study coding or data science, your expectations, and your past technology experiences. The team will help you find the course and schedule that will accommodate all of your needs.
- Sign up and pay: If at the end of your discussion you still want to attend TTS, you will be asked to sign up. Before paying, remember that you should first apply for any scholarships that may fit your background.
Tech Talent South Interview
The interview process consists of a 20-minute talk with the TTS intake team. In this chat, you must make a case for why the school should accept you. The interview also includes a technical test to evaluate your technical skills.

Overall Experience:
The staff of Tech Talent South have been incredibly supportive and welcoming. Tech Talent South’s approach helps foster passion and enthusiasm for learning and development.
Curriculum:
The curriculum is exactly what I expect to be covered in a Full-Stack Development boot camp.
Instructors:
Greg is excellent at adapting the curriculum and classroom activities to suit each students learning needs.

The audacious training supersedes tradition education, which works best for me as a non-traditional student 60 plus. My take away from the 8-week training is that I am in the “know” on the express high-way of technology. Before attending TTS training, it was just a dream, now it is a reality, and it has allowed me to step up my own game as it relates to my own Content Building and Branding Business. Therefore, the TTS training polished my ability to have confidence in identifying my own leadership qualities when speaking with clients, networking, and engaging in technology conversations. I am still a work in progress. Nonetheless, I have obtained CSS HTML and UX Design skills and I continue to perfect the concepts in ways that I amaze myself.

I am currently in the code immersion class in New Orleans and the class is very helpful so far with being introduced to the tech community. Our instructor Carlos is very knowledgeable and Mary Lachapelle is amazing with community outreach and networking. So glad I found Tech Talent South to start my tech career!

I know my title reads Java boot camp but we didn’t just focus on Java. We learned to become full-stack developers. I started with no coding experience in my previous careers. I did allot of technical jobs. I jumped into this boot camp with The hopes of getting a great job right our of the boot camp. However, while doing the first day introductions, there were allot of people there with a few boot camps under their belts. This made me a bit nervous seeing as this was my first one. I did everything I could to absorb as much as my brain could possibly handle. I impressed my instructor with my dedication. Alas this wasn’t enough to land me an actual job. I was taught to use HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Thymeleaf to make my apps and websites pretty. I was taught to use Spring Boot for Java as back-end programming. I learned how to create a Github profile and upload my Java projects. I was given the ability to create my own website. I fought to go to class everyday to learn for 3 months. It was an in person class from 8am-5pm. We all had to put our primary jobs on hold or cut back on the hours to be in the class. This is a major need to know before jumping into any boot camp. Have a savings that can hold you up for 3 months or at least a support system that can have you work some hours without drowning in debt. This may seem ridiculous or an outlandish tip. But I speak from experience, I no longer have a vehicle due to my lack of hours and lack of employment for 3 months. I had been struggling before the class. I did look at this class as a bright light to all the over whelming debt I had been consumed by. Realistically, some financial stability is key to be able to join any boot camp. Good luck.

We were lucky to have such a dedicated staff and very attentive instructor. You can feel the passion he has for programming and learning. With this course, I wanted to grow my backend skills and learning and the focus on Java/Spring Boot was exactly what I needed.

Tech Talent South in New Orleans, LA was a perfect fit for my needs. Other programs in the city were just not an option due to the scheduling demands, and also tuition cost. I was working my regular full time job while attending, so having the option to attend the part time code immersion program was great. The instructor was an actual developer, and not just a teacher, so his real world insight was awesome. The instructor was very approachable, available, and eager to help. You could tell he really wanted you to understand before moving forward, instead of just blasting through the material. Probably the best aspect of this particular school, in New Orleans specifically was the local community development leader, Mary. She puts together tours of local tech companies, schedules guest speakers before class, and puts together events around town. These tours, speakers, and events were fantastic especially being that I am making a transition into tech from a completely different industry. The people I’ve met, and the advice that I received has been tremendous! This alone is worth attending the school. As far as the curriculum goes, I would only say that I would like to see the part time program be extended. It was an 8 week course, which I’m fine with, but given that class was only twice a week, I feel like if it was longer, that would give more time to dive into different subjects a little deeper. For anyone looking to attend their part time program, I would recommend finding your favorite resource to go in tandem with what you are covering in class. You do have homework while going through, which is helpful, but for me it helped to solidify things hearing the same things said a different way. Like all things in life, nothing is a proverbial golden ticket. Your success will ultimately come down to the work that you put in. There is no job guarantee after graduation. However, this shouldn’t hinder you, because the industry does hold bootcamp graduates in high esteem, because you come out of it with direct experience in the things that you will work with on the job. Do the work, attend the events, and network, and you will be successful. Like Grant Cardone says, “The only limit to the amount of success you have is the amount of action you take.” This program has been fantastic in my opinion I definitely recommend it to anyone looking into it in the New Orleans area.
