Nucamp is known for being affordable and flexible, so working adults can keep their full-time jobs while upskilling themselves. Nucamp offers career services, including career advisor support, a career development program, and much more.
Nucamp was established by a former Microsoft executive who sought to make tech education more accessible. The fundamentals program is made up of video lessons and readings. Meanwhile, the advanced programs require between six to 14 hours of online commitment and four hours of at-home workshops every week.
Nucamp offers three different programs catering to professionals of every level. Nucamp recommends following their coding trajectory starting with web development fundamentals before picking a specialization in front end or full stack web and mobile development.
The Front End Web and Mobile Development program is 17 weeks long. It covers web development tools like Bootstrap, React, React Native, Visual Studio Code, Git, and Github, among others. By the end of the course, students can expect to complete 12 projects that demonstrate their newly-learned skills.
Learn how to build apps from start to finish with the Full Stack Web and Mobile Development course. This is the most challenging program at Nucamp, which lasts for 22 weeks. Some of the technologies covered include MongoDB database, Node.js, Bootstrap, React, React Native, Visual Studio Code, Git, and Github, among others. A variety of payment plans are offered.
Nucamp offers the best of both worlds as students will learn independently and online during the week but will meet their cohort on the weekends in-person and through video conferencing. The workshops take place in co-working spaces like WeWork, Impact Hub, or local co-working spaces. A few of the locations offered are as follows.
To ensure that tech aspirants from all backgrounds are able to enroll in its courses, all courses have flexible schedules. That means there is no full-time program currently offered at Nucamp.
Nucamp is at the forefront of education, offering a hybrid learning program that blends both online and in-person learning. You can expect to study online during the week on your schedule. Then on Saturdays, there will be an in-person or web-based video conference workshop.
Depending on the course, you can expect to spend between six to 14 hours studying with a four-hour commitment to self-learning every week. As such, you can easily allocate the time during the week to work around a full-time job.
At the moment, Nucamp does not offer a self-paced program for its courses.

I chose Nucamp coding bootcamp because I wanted to see if coding is something I could enjoy. I work full time and overtime, so other schooling is not right for me; 2-3 hours online during the week and one weekend day in person is workable. The price is well worth the experiment. In my case, I enjoyed the beginner bootcamp so much that I’ve signed up for the more extensive bootcamp. A few people quit halfway through. I can’t help but think they found it worthwhile, though; I would have, even if it wasn’t for me. Knowing is better than the opposite.

I chose NuCamp because it was inexpensive, and it seemed like a great jumping off point. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. The program guided me towards learning the essentials, and the instructor was always helpful, whether online or in-person. I just finished the Web Development Course, and I’m already signed up for the Full Stack Course in October.

In an effort to teach myself to code, I tried few online courses on udemy (for the past 3 months). Though I had a decent start in each of them, I often found myself stuck and needed guidance. I knew a part-time bootcamp would bridge the gap. Being a beginner, I started with Web Fundamentals – our instructor was very knowledgeable. The in-person workshops kept me accountable and motivated me to keep moving forward. I am looking forward to joining the Front End course offered by Nucamp. I would have liked the Web Fundamentals course to be perhaps a week or 2 longer and focus on 1 or 2 more projects which would help further reinforce the concepts learned.

I looked at various bootcamp options before giving Nucamp a shot. Most other offerings are far more expensive and are significant investments in time and money. I was pleased with the Nucamp Web Fundamentals course which lasted 4 weeks and will likely move forward with the Full Stack Developer course (22 week commitment) after this experience. The course is arranged so that you can work a regular 9-5 job, using off time to study/code to prepare for the Saturday 5 hour meet-up hosted by the instructor. The format worked well for me despite the distractions thrown at me by life. I enjoyed having a more structured approach to the material than I would have had access to if I had chosen to “go it alone, teach myself” by buying a book or just googling it. Having the instructor and classmates to bounce questions off of resolved issues and expanded knowledge faster than the singular approach.

I chose Nucamp because firstly it was affordable and was a flexible option to do homework and assignments while I work full-time. I enjoyed the weekly workshops with my instructor. She was very knowledgeable and patient with each student. I encourage anyone who has been wanting to learn how to code to enroll in Nucamp because of the flexibility it offers.
