I attended AcademyX for their development bootcamp and regret the experience greatly. There were several instructors teaching different parts of the bootcamp and some were better than others at teaching the material but some were downright awful. The structure was very much like a bad lecture all following rote exercises with little mentorship or actual acknowledgement of whether students actually understood the material or not. As far as I know, every person from my class finished the program, got their certification, and not a single person went on to actually get a job doing what the bootcamp was intending. And those that did well in the class were already somewhat technical coming into the program and could have easily taught themselves the material in significantly less time.
If I could give this zero stars, I would. For the cost, value of material and education, etc… you’d do better taking classes at a local community college for significantly less and still walk away more knowledgeable.

I love this facility! It was so clean and organized. Free wifi and nice breakeooms.

I did an online html, css and javascript bootcamp and I loved the video lessons. Also, the exercises and quizes were super user-friendly. Almost anyone could do the bootcamp and walk away understanding the basics of front-end web development. GA did sort of push us out of the nest early by requiring us to learn through experience but gave us weekly extra and optional resources and we got to choose our tutors for our face-to-face sessions who could provide help if we were stuck on a problem. If I want to go back and expand my knowledge in tech, I’d go back.
