Coding Temple’s Full Stack Web Development Course Overview

The full-time, 10-week course covers the following topics and technologies:

  • Front-End. Front-end developers are responsible for the look and feel of a website. Students will learn front-end concepts using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Angular, among others.
  • Back-End. Back-end development is also known as server-side development and refers to everything users don’t see. Students will learn Python and Flask.
  • Database. A database is a collection of data that is stored and accessed from a computer system. Students will learn to manage databases through SQLite, MySQL, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Data Analytics and Data Science. This includes data analytics, data mining, machine learning, and other related disciplines. Matplotlib, Tableau, and Spark are some of the data-related technologies students will learn in the course.
  • Environments. The term “development environment” refers to the processes and programming tools used to create the program. Students will learn Git, Github, and Anaconda for this area, among others.

Coding Temple also offers a part-time, 12-week Full Stack Web Development course for students who cannot commit to a full-time schedule. Classes are online and conducted in the evenings. The average day in the part-time course consists of the whiteboard, assignment reviews, lectures, technical quizzes, programming exercises, and real-world projects. 

Crucial topics on programming, databases, and environments are included in the course. The technologies learned are similar to the full-time program, but the part-time program does not include data analytics and data science.

All Coding Temple students must complete a capstone project to graduate. The capstone project is a real-world working application that must utilize all the skills they learned throughout the course. It should also bring value in the real world. This project will be presented to potential employers.

Coding Temple also offers full career support for its students. For example, when a student reaches Week 6 of the program, the person meets with a career coach to draft a resume. By Week 9, the career coach and the student would have completed their resume. 

Students also practice answering interview questions that they might encounter during their job search. An instructor provides whiteboard questions every day to start the session. These questions are similar to interview questions students may be asked by potential employers. At the end of the program, the instructor will meet students individually to conduct a one-hour mock technical interview. 

A career coach also conducts behavioral and technical interviews for students. This will help them build self-confidence and be comfortable with interviews and technical assessments before applying for jobs. The career coach will also give them feedback to improve their performance.

Finally, Coding Temple has a vast alumni network that provides interview tips and offers referrals for open positions where they work. The coding bootcamp also has an extensive employer network, from top corporations to smaller startups, to help students get employed after completing their course.
